I’m a huge fan of trying out all kinds of international dishes. Out of everything I’ve tried, Mexican cuisine is easily one of my favorites … especially anything you can make with tortillas. There are so many different kinds of foods you can make using tortillas, and all of them are 100% delicious. Seriously, think about it – tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas … the list of ridiculously good meals made with tortillas goes on and on.
Normally, tortillas are made with maize flour, which is quite high in carbs and obviously not ideal for anyone on a ketogenic diet. Thankfully, there are tons of ways you can make them by swapping out the maize for more keto-friendly ingredients.
I’ve literally tried dozens upon dozens of homemade keto tortilla recipes since beginning my keto journey, and today I’m incredibly excited to share this list of the 12 best keto tortilla recipes with you guys.
#1 Low Carb Tortillas
You actually have quite a few options to use as replacements for corn maize when it comes to making keto-friendly tortillas. This particular recipe goes with coconut flour which works great because it provides an abundance of healthy fats and dietary fiber to your tortillas.
#2 Keto Tortilla Recipe
These homemade tortillas are terrific for making keto-friendly tacos (and a variety of other tasty Tex-Mex foods). The tortillas are made with a combination of both almond and coconut flour, plus a few other clever ingredient choices. The end result are tortillas that are quite addictive indeed!
#3 KETO TORTILLAS
This is another keto tortilla recipe made with coconut flour. Not only do they provide a solid amount of saturated fats, but they’re also packed with protein thanks to the addition of egg whites.
#4 Almond Flour Keto Tortillas Recipe
If you’d rather make your keto tortillas with almond flour as opposed to coconut flour, then you’re in for a real treat with this recipe. But the real secret ingredient is the psyllium husk powder. It provides a ton of dietary fiber to your tortillas, but more importantly, it makes them perfectly soft and chewy as well.
#5 Almost Zero Carb Wraps
This recipe is about as close to being zero-carb as you’re going to get when making keto tortillas. Rather impressively, two of these keto wraps ends up having only one gram of carbohydrate. They’re also incredibly flavorful while being packed full of both protein and high quality fats.
#6 Almond Flour Low Carb Tortillas
One of the best things about making keto-friendly recipes is that quite often they end up being completely gluten-free as well. These low carb tortillas are no exception – they’re made with a blend of coconut flour and almond flour, offering tons of fiber, protein, and healthy fats.
#7 Keto Tortillas Recipe – Low Carb
I haven’t cooked or baked anything with refined wheat flours in years. I can’t say that I miss it either when you consider the number of health issues it’s been found to cause. Instead, I love using keto-friendly ingredient alternatives to make recipes like this one for low carb and gluten-free tortillas.
#8 Keto Tortillas + Breakfast Tacos
This recipe makes keto-friendly tortillas with a slightly spicy hint to them that work phenomenally well for making breakfast tacos. They’re a great source of fat and protein as well since they’re made with ingredients like eggs, shredded cheese, and avocado.
#9 Keto Low Carb Tortilla Chips
This particular recipe is slightly different than the others on our list. It makes low-carb tortilla chips that are perfect for snacking. They’re great when enjoyed plain but they’re even better when served with a keto-friendly dip.
#10 Low Carb Keto Tortilla Chips Recipe
Since keto tortilla chips make such a great snacking option, I felt this list deserved another recipe that will show you how to make them. This recipe differs slightly from the previous entry but is just as good for enjoying as a snack along with salsa, guacamole, or queso. I recommend trying out both recipes to see which one you prefer.
#11 Low Carb Keto Tortilla Recipe
This low-carb keto tortilla recipe is quite unique. Instead of using typical keto ingredients like coconut flour or almond flour, these tortillas are actually made with ground up cauliflower crumbs. It sounds strange but believe me – it works incredibly well. You’ll have to try this one for yourself to see how good it really is.
#12 Lazy Low-Carb Tortilla Chips (Keto)
Rounding out the list is another tortilla chip recipe. This one is quite a bit easier to make than the other two but every bit as good. I had to include it here due to my love for quick and easy-to-make keto recipes, especially when they’re this good!
Choose Your Fillings Wisely
Making these low-carb tortilla recipes is just the start. The real fun begins when you start to add all of your favorite fillings. Some of my favorite ways to enjoy these tortilla recipes include making extra cheesy quesadillas, spicy tacos with ground beef, bell peppers, and sour cream, and of course, a variety of wraps stuffed with meat and low carb veggies. Whatever your preferred fillings are, just be sure to keep an eye on the carb content in order to keep your meal from knocking you out of ketosis.
